O filamento Ultrafuse 316L do fabricante BASF é um filamento de impressão 3D muito específico. Não é apenas um filamento projetado para revelar uma aparência metálica, mas sim um filamento que permite a fabricação de objetos 100% metálicos em 2 etapas.
Este filamento Ultrafuse 316L é um filamento revolucionário, que permite, através do uso de impressoras 3D FDM tradicionais, a produção de peças para sinterizar. O sinterizado é um processo de cozimento em alta temperatura que separa a estrutura plástica do metal. Esse processo de sinterização faz com que o metal entre em fusão, criando uma ligação eficiente e homogênea.
Esse processo de impressão em 2 etapas começa em sua casa com a impressão da peça a ser sinterizada (chamada de "verde"), seguida da intervenção de um prestador de serviços para a etapa de sinterização. Essa combinação de um filamento ultratécnico e de um prestador de serviços externo dedicado permite minimizar os custos de fabricação de suas peças metálicas sem a necessidade de um grande investimento.
Impressão de metal acessível: Este filamento 316L (nomeado após o aço inoxidável de que é composto), desenvolvido pela BASF, é o primeiro filamento a permitir a impressão de uma peça metálica a ser sinterizada. Acessível para a maioria das impressoras 3D do mercado, esse processo de impressão em 2 etapas é rápido, eficiente e econômico.
Boa imprimibilidade: O design deste filamento altamente composto é desenvolvido ao redor de uma matriz plástica que permite um bom deslizamento do filamento, extrusão eficiente e uma boa ligação entre camadas, apesar do alto conteúdo de metal.
Método de sinterização ideal: Este filamento Ultrafuse 316L oferece acesso fácil a uma solução de sinterização específica para este filamento. Ao adquirir um cupom dedicado (1 cupom = 1 quilograma de peça a ser sinterizada), é simples e rápido acessar esta solução de pós-processamento.

O filamento Ultrafuse 316L requer configurações específicas. É altamente recomendado utilizar os perfis de impressão existentes para atender às exigências deste filamento. A impressão deve ser precisa e uniforme, incluindo densidade de preenchimento, espessura das paredes e fluxo. Esses parâmetros são extremamente importantes para a segunda fase de tratamento.
Também é necessário um gerenciamento de suportes muito específico, e o uso da extrusão dupla será de grande ajuda nesta etapa. Este filamento é compatível com a maioria das impressoras FDM, mas é fortemente recomendado para impressoras profissionais.
Tenha cuidado para não exceder a temperatura de extrusão recomendada a fim de evitar alta toxicidade.
Recomenda-se também o uso de um adesivo específico como Magigoo Metal para minimizar a deformação das peças durante a impressão.
