O Revo Design Personal estabelece a ligação entre a digitalização 3D e a modelação CAD. O software permite trabalhar com malhas STL, OBJ ou PLY obtidas através de um scan 3D, reconstruir geometrias, criar esboços e modificar superfícies para obter um modelo adequado à impressão 3D. A integração com o software de digitalização Revopoint permite transferir a malha com um único clique e continuar diretamente o processo de engenharia inversa.
Esta edição destina-se a projetos pessoais e não comerciais. É adequada para makers, engenheiros, educadores e utilizadores que pretendam utilizar os seus scans 3D para restaurar uma peça, adaptar um objeto existente ou criar um modelo para impressão 3D. A exportação CAD está limitada ao formato STL.

A malha pode ser transferida do software de digitalização Revopoint com um único clique. O modelo digitalizado pode depois ser editado diretamente no Revo Design Personal, simplificando a passagem da captura 3D para a reconstrução do modelo e evitando etapas desnecessárias entre diferentes aplicações de software.

O Revo Design Personal integra várias ferramentas para preparar e modificar os dados obtidos através do scan. É possível reduzir o número de polígonos, remover pontos anómalos e preencher os orifícios da malha. Estas funções permitem obter uma geometria mais limpa antes de continuar a reconstrução ou preparar um modelo para impressão 3D.

O software permite comparar o modelo reconstruído com a malha obtida através do scan 3D para identificar diferenças entre as duas geometrias. Os valores de tolerância podem ser definidos e ajustados para analisar os desvios e verificar com maior precisão a correspondência entre a reconstrução CAD e os dados digitalizados.
A malha pode servir de base para reconstruir diferentes geometrias utilizadas em CAD. O Revo Design Personal permite extrair e ajustar planos, cilindros, cones e esferas, bem como criar linhas e pontos de referência. Estes elementos facilitam a reconstrução de peças a partir de dados de digitalização e o seu alinhamento num sistema de coordenadas.
Para formas menos regulares, o software disponibiliza ferramentas de modelação freeform. É possível desenhar curvas diretamente sobre a malha para criar superfícies de preenchimento, transições ou formas livres. Também é possível criar superfícies delimitadas a partir de esboços 3D para reconstruir progressivamente a geometria de uma peça digitalizada.
As ferramentas de esboço permitem reconstruir geometrias a partir do modelo digitalizado. Os esboços 2D suportam cotas e restrições, enquanto as ferramentas 3D permitem criar curvas de referência diretamente sobre as superfícies da malha. O corte interativo também facilita a extração de pontos de referência para posicionar e alinhar os esboços.
Após concluir o processo de reconstrução, o modelo CAD pode ser exportado em formato STL. Este formato pode depois ser integrado num fluxo de trabalho de impressão 3D. O Revo Design Personal está, no entanto, limitado a este formato de exportação: os formatos CAD STEP, IGES e Parasolid, assim como a utilização comercial, estão reservados ao Revo Design Pro.
